The book im reading is call Sold by Patricia Mccormick. Im third of the way through the book and it's about this girl who was sold to be a maid at least thats what she thought. She was sold by her step dad who gambled all there money away. This book is good because it never gets boring you alway just want to keep reading on and on and on. Patricia wrote this book to show what life is  like in India for the girls that are sold into work. Most people are poor with barley any money. The main charater at this point is the narrotor and the girl thats telling the story went from being poor to living like royal. "Stupid girl" is important because it shows how mean the mean were to there wife's by calling them names. Is she ever going to see her family again?
