Payton Hancox Post 2 Mockingjay

I am reading the book Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. I just finished the book. The book was about a girl named Katniss who is leading a rebel army against the Capitol in an attempt to rid the Capitol of their power and to assassinate President Snow. She trained for the rebel army and was in a sharpshooting squad. The rebels went to the Capitol and rescued Peeta and the other tributes that didn't escape the Hunger Games arena. After Peeta got back they figured out he was tortured and now hates Katniss. Gradually he starts to get better and by the end of the book he's almost back to normal. The rebels win the war and President Snow gets killed. After everything settles down Katniss and Peeta go back to District 12 and start a family together. The book was really good and had a good solution. I didn't like that it left you wondering what the rest of Katniss's life would be like. The author wanted to show her perspective of could happen in the future and to educate people of how good of a life they actually have. The theme is courage and determination. Katniss is the main character and she shows many examples of courage and determination throughout the book. Peeta Mellark is the best character in the book. He has changed because he was tortured in the Capitol and he doesn't remember some things that happened in the past. He has also grown more mature and has a better appreciation for what he has. "I'll tell them how I survive it. I'll tell them that on bad mornings, it feels impossible to take pleasure in anything because I'm afraid it could be taken away. That's when I make a list in my head of every act of goodness I've ever seen someone do. It's like a game. Repetitive. Evan a little tedious after more than twenty years. But there are much worse games to play." She is saying she will tell that to her children and she is saying "there are much worse games to play" as in the Hunger Games. I want to know what her life will be like in the future and if Peeta and Katniss will ever get better or be the same?
