Payton Hancox Post 1 Mockingjay

I am reading the book Mockingjay. This book is written by Suzanne Collins. I am currently on chapter 4 (page 50). So far this book is about a teenage girl from District 12 who volunteered for her sister in her first Hunger Games and won with Peeta, a boy from her home district. When they returned to their home they became great friends and later became engaged. Sadly they both got drawn again to be in the next Hunger Games. Little do they know, all the tributes during these games do everything they can to protect Peeta and Katniss. The other tributes know that there is going to be a war and that Katniss and Peeta will be very important to the rebel cause. At the end Katniss blows up the arena and the rebels, the group fighting the Capitol, rescue her, but fail to rescue Peeta. On her way to the rebels' home in District 13, the Capitol blows up District 12. The few citizens who managed to escape traveled to District 13. They are now trying to adapt to the strict life in their new home, Katniss is trying to cope with her depression of losing Peeta while leading the war against the cruel Capitol. So far this book is good, but also a little boring because not much is happening. I think the author wrote this to show people what it's like in the mind of someone who has experienced horrible things. The theme is how good we have it today and how bad it could be. The best character is Katniss because she is determined and isn't scared of anything. She has changed from a normal teenager, to a tribute, and then to a mentally unstable patient who lives in the hospital. "Positioned on my dresser, that white-as-snow rose is a personal message to me. It speaks of unfinished business. It whispers, I can find you. I can reach you. Perhaps I am watching you now." That quote was thought by Katniss when she visited her home after it was bombed. It's a sign from President Snow, leader of the Capitol, that he is still watching her and he is trying to scare her. I am wondering if Peeta will ever come back from the Capitol and if she will ever get better?
